Essential Oil Lavender Blueberry and Raspberry Smoothie
I'll admit, the first time I tried putting lavender in a smoothie, I was skeptical. Lavender is usually something I associate with soap and lotion, not breakfast. But one drop of food-grade lavender essential oil transforms a simple berry smoothie into something truly special.
The floral note from the lavender pairs beautifully with the tartness of the raspberries and the sweetness of the blueberries. It's like a spa day in a glass.
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
- 1 banana (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 drop food-grade lavender essential oil
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender in the order listed.
- Blend on high for 45-60 seconds, or until completely smooth.
- Taste and adjust sweetness with more honey if needed.
- Pour into a glass and top with a few extra berries and chia seeds if desired.
Tips
When using essential oils internally, always make sure the bottle is labeled as food-grade or safe for internal use. One drop of lavender is plenty—any more and the smoothie will taste soapy. The banana adds creaminess, while the Greek yogurt provides protein to keep you full. If you want a thicker smoothie, use frozen banana instead of fresh. This smoothie is perfect for a light breakfast or an afternoon snack.
